Emirates has been named the best airlines in the world for 2016 by the leading consumer-aviation website Skytrax. The Dubai-based airline was presented with the award at a ceremony during the 2016 Farnborough Airshow Tuesday. This is the fourth time Emirates has garnered this honor in the past 15 years, as well as its first win since 2013.
The Skytrax rankings are based on the impression of 19.2 million travelers from 104 different countries. The survey, which covered more than 280 airlines, measured 41 different parameters ranging from boarding procedures to seat comfort to the quality of service.
Here are the 10 best airlines in the world, according to the results of the Skytrax survey.
10. Lufthansa
Lufthansa has been ranked 10th in the list of best airlines in the world. It is the third oldest airline in the world, having been founded in the year November 1920; it began international passenger flights in May 1935. 8. EVA Air
EVA Air ranks 8th in the list of best airlines in the world. EVA Airways Corporation is a Taiwanese international airline based at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport near Taipei,Taiwan, operating passenger and dedicated cargo services to more than 40 international destinations in Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America. EVA Air is largely privately owned and flies a fully international route network. It is the second largest Taiwanese airline. EVA Air is headquartered in Luzhu, Taoyuan City, Taiwan.
7. Turkish Airlines
Turkish Airlines ranks 7th in the list of best airlines in the world. Turkish Airlines is the national flag carrier airline of Turkey, headquartered at the Turkish Airlines General Management Building on the grounds of Ataturk Airport in Yesilkoy, Bakırkoy, Istanbul. As of Feb 2015, it operates scheduled services to 280 destinations in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas, making it the fourth-largest carrier in the world by the number of destinations. Turkish Airlines is also the operator that flies to most countries.
6. Etihad Airways
Etihad Airways ranked 6th in the list of best Airlines in the world. Etihad Airways is the flag carrier and the second-largest airline of the United Arab Emirates, after Emirates. Its head office is in Khalifa City, Abu Dhabi. The airline operates more than 1,000 flights per week to over 120 passenger and cargo destinations in the Middle East, Americas,Africa, Europe, Asia, and theAustralia with a fleet of 119 Airbus and Boeing aircraft as of August 2015.

5. All Nippon Airways (ANA)
All Nippon Airways Co., Ltd. was also known as Zennikkū or ANA, is a Japanese airline. ANA comes in the 5th spot in the list of best airlines in the world. Its headquarters are located at Shiodome City Center in the Shiodome area of Minato, Tokyo, Japan. It operates services to 49 destinations in Japan and 32 international routes and had about 33,000 employees as of August 2013.
4. Cathay Pacific Airways
Cathay Pacific is in the 4th spot in the list of best airlines in the world. The airline’s operations include scheduled passenger and cargo services to 200 destinations in 52 countries worldwide. Singapore Airlines comes in the third position in the list of best airlines in the world. It ranks amongst the top 15 carriers worldwide in terms of revenue passenger miles, and 10th in the world for international passengers carried.
